Erik Meijer to Leave B-TEL, Joins AXIS Telecom

This morning we received news that Erik Meijer, Deputy President Director Bakrie Telecom has submit his resignation from the position at B-TEL to join STL(Saudi Telecom)-owned company AXIS Indonesia. There’s a lot of rumors floating around as to where is Meijer heading next after B-TEL (Google? Indosat? XL?) but we have strong source that said it’s going to be AXIS.

Prior to join B-TEL, Meijer spent 11 years in Telkomsel before joining Bakrie Group to handle several companies under the media group : Vivanews where he spent 11 months as CEO, Bakrie Connectivity, and currently also sits as Director for Nusantara Incubation. It’s most likely that he will leave all the position he holds within the Bakrie Group as he joined AXIS but we still don’t have confirmation from Meijer.

Our source tells us that Meijer will hold CEO position in AXIS, a position previously held by Erik Aas for 4.5 years.

We will update the news once we get official words from B-TEL and AXIS Telecom.
