Toresto Hits the Web, Emulates Its Mobile Apps

Toresto, which is known as an application made by GITS Indonesia to search for dining spots and restaurants, now also comes in the form of a website. Located at www.toresto.com, Toresto website presents the same features with its existing mobile apps.

“We make this website as closely as possible with its mobile version, even the location detector is also available, “ said Halida Astatin, Senior Web Developer at GITS Indonesia in a news release received by DailySocial. Toresto mobile version is available for users of Android, iOS, Windows Phone and Nokia S40. This website is intended for those who don’t use those any of the 4 types of phone.

This website will track the location of a Torian (nickname for Toresto users) then give out the location of nearby restaurant around the Torian. If a Torian’s location cannot be detected, a list of restaurants will be displayed using the default location which is Bandung. Besides Bandung, Toresto’s website currently has the option to use other 4 locations, namely Jakarta, Bogor, Yogyakarta and Surabaya.

But if a Torian’s favorite restaurant is not listed, then the Torian can add the restaurant into the list. Torians also can write reviews of the restaurants on the list to give suggestions and advice to other Torians who want to visit the restaurant. This add and review feature is just like the one available on Toresto mobile app.

To further pamper the Torians, Toresto promised to add new features and increase the reach of the town and restaurants. After the death of Tasterous, of course Indonesian foodies hope for a service like this to exist and thrive.
