Bhinneka Launches Android App To Increase Mobile Transaction

Bhinneka, an e-commerce website which sell computer, gadget and accessories, launches Android app as an effort to increase the transaction. Therefore, it claimed to have invested money worth 5 to 10 billion to develop this app which includes forming app developer and designer team, equipment and marketing budget.

Bhinneka still has the confidence to release this app even though today, the number of online transaction only reaches 30% from total transaction. Other 70% happens offline at Bhinneka store. However, as reported by Antara, Hendrik Tio, Bhinneka.com’s Main Director, is sure that transaction from mobile app will continue growing in 2 to 3 years ahead and in the end will be buyer’s guidance.

Other than Bhinneka app which used for mobile shopping, in celebration of Bhinneka online anniversary, it also releases 2 other apps, namely Tarif Kirim and Potret Hantu apps. Tarif Kirim is an Android based app which can be used by user to check shipping fee to every destination in Indonesia using services such as JNE, Tiki and Cobra. Meanwhile, Potret Hantu, which available for Nokia S40 and S60 is a game to hunt haunted pictures. This Potret Hantu app is the result of the cooperation between Bhinneka, Nikon, Agate Studio and Nokia.

From the information written on Bhinneka’s website about the three apps, it seems that Bhinneka is preparing for other platforms, as well.

Unfortunately, in Google Play’s page for this Bhinneka app, the response from user is currently still negative. Many complain about the UI that they find to be cluttered and the font is too small. Other than that, some users also complain that this app is slow. To push user to do mobile shopping, it seems that this app still needs more work to do.
