Finishing Roadshow, Mobile Games Developer War 4 Rookie Gains 154 Partys

Mobile Games Developer War (MGDW) 4 Rookie’s committee has done doing a roadshow to 5 cities in Indonesia. Started at Surabaya, the roadshow visit developer cities in Indonesia, namely Malang, Jakarta, Bandung and ended in Yogyakarta at June 20.

The roadshow manages to interest the beginner developer to join in the MGDW 4 Rookie competition. Until Sunday night, June 24, 154 partys (the nickname for MGDW 4 Rookie’s participant) are registered as MGDW 4 Rookies’s participants. This number has the chance to increase because MGDW 4 Rookie’s registration is still open until June 30, 2012.

As known, MGDW 4 Rookie is a part of Computer Festival 2012 held by the Faculty of Computer Science University of Indonesia (UI). Cooperating with Nokia Developer and Agate Studio, this competition challenges and assists beginner developer to develop mobile game.

Fauzan Helmi Sudaryanto, person in charge of MGDW 4 Rookie, as reported in the press release, mentioned that other than being a competition, MGDW 4 Rookie can be a fun game development learning session. Participant will be guided in every phase of mobile game making starting from creating design document to submitting finished game to Nokia Store. The competition process will be held with gamification where every party will get achievement points if they manage to complete all given tasks.

In that roadshow, MGDW 4 Rookie’s committee was not only socializing the MGDW 4 and Compfest 2012 but also introducing the mobile games industry’s potential and business model to the participants.

Developer’s Enthusiasm for Nokia

Meanwhile, big enthusiasm is also shown by developers for the development competiton held by Nokia Developer, Hackonten. Narenda Wicaksono, Developer Manager for Nokia South East Asia, mentioned in his tweet that the amount of registrant of the competition in cooperation with Gramedia Majalah has reached more than 120 teams.

It seems that developer’s enthusiasm to develop app for Nokia, both for Symbian and Windows Phone platforms, is increasing along with how often Nokia Developer holds competitions for developers.
