RIM to Introduce BlackBerry 10 to Indonesian Operators in October

Research In Motion (RIM) recently mentioned that BlackBerry 10 was well received when it was introduced to the operators in the United States. Will it receive the same welcome when the latest BlackBerry operating system is introduced to the biggest BlackBerry market in Asia?

RIM executives will visit Indonesia in mid-October to introduce BlackBerry 10 to operators in the country. In the meeting, RIM will demonstrate BlackBerry 10’s ability to the operators. RIM claims that BlackBerry 10 has a good performance in multitasking which allows users to switch between apps seamlessly.

In addition, RIM will also invite operators to discuss BlackBerry 10 marketing plans in Indonesia. Operators are considered experienced in giving out package deals and promotion to market BlackBerry in Indonesia.

Chief Marketing Officer of RIM, Frank Boulben revealed the plan to Jakarta Post in a limited interview. Furthermore, Boulben says that RIM wants commitment from operators in marketing the BlackBerry 10 smartphones.

Meanwhile, Head of Product Development and Management of Indosat, Sumantri Joko Yuwono says that BlackBerry 10 products are highly expected in Indonesia. The reason, according to Sumantri, is because BlackBerry is still widely used by many people in Indonesia. Is this a sign that Blackberry 10 will receive a good, or even a great, welcome here?
