Kelase Provides Online Learning Platform

Today, people can learn everywhere, unlike in the past when learning activities were limited to the classroom. Even though this remote learning method does not completely substitute formal schools, it still allows the students to do their learning activities pretty much everywhere and at any time. To catch up with this trend, PT. Edukasi Satu Nol Satu developed Kelase as a platform that may help both formal and non-formal education institutions to build their own online learning system.

As Surabaya News cited, Kelase was established by two Intel Indonesia’s ex-employees. They are Brimy Laksmana and Winastwan Gora. They said that Edukasi 101 has been established since March 2013 and is supported by developer team which has technical expertise as well as background in education.

Kelase has four main features: Social, Collaboration, Information and Communication. There is also Learning that can be used by registered learning institutions. Kelase may also be the solution to strengthen the communication between the school, teachers, students, and parents, as well as increase students’ motivation to learn. The registration process of Kelase is free, but it must be done by the education institution itself.

It is important to be noticed that Kelase has not adopted an online course system in which everyone can access all learning subjects – as Coursera has. Kelase platform is designed for education institutions that intend to increase its learning engagement so that it’s not only available in the classroom, but can also be accessed at home or even outdoor by using mobile gadgets.

As an e-Learning provider, Kelase is demanded to provide simple Ul which can be used by pretty much everyone from every segment. For wider access, Kelase can also be accessed from an Android app which is optimized for smartphones and 7 inch-tablets with a possibility to accommodate other platforms eventually.

Given the fact that kids nowadays are more aware about technology and have become digital natives, e-Learning scheme will just fit the need of effective and interactive learning system.
