Mailbird Targets S$10K from Crowdfunding

Mailbird told about the detail of their crowdfunding project, which is done through a partnership with Channel News Asia, last Monday (26/1). The campaign will be aired on the news channel’s Startup Show Season 2. In the show, Mailbird will compete with seven others startups from Southeast Asia, like INNI Nails, Novelsys, Temploy, iKargo, Corporate360, ShopperBoard, and code2LAB.

The crowdfunding campaign has been mentioned by Mailbird when the team announced about the major updates for most of their features in the first quarter of 2015. Through this program, Mailbird expects to collect S$10 thousand, which is planned to be allocated on the marketing of Mailbird 2.0 which covers Online Advertising, Production of Image Movies, Content Marketing, Sponsorship (online and offline), Offline Marketing, and Production of Marketing Material and Collateral.

Along with the campaign, Mailbird’s CEO Andrea Loubier will be one of the finalists in Startup Show Season 2, which will be aired in February 2015. The crowdfunding campaign platform will be effective per February 9, 2015.

A selection of experts will judge the show, including Eddie Chau (TNF Venture’s Founding Partner), Leslie Loh (Red Dot Ventures’ Founder), and Mark Strecker (a•mo•bee’s CEO).

Mailbird has gathered 17 thousand premium users so far and is on its 2.0 version, even though the version still requires further improvements. However, a number of features have been equipped to the version, one of them is the Speed Reader which enables users to real emails in no time. In the future, more features will be added as well, such as Wingman, Unified Box, and Advance Search.

Besides occupying themselves with new feature updates, Mailbird is also on the track to develop its API for Mailbird Apps. After being publicly launched later, Mailbird will promote the entrance of third parties and discuss the profit sharing scheme for the sales of the apps.
