Prosa.ai Receives Series A Funding from GDP Venture

Prosa.ai, an artificial intelligence (AI) startup developer for Natural Language Processing technology (NLP) and speech recognition in Indonesian language, today (6/20) announced series A funding led by GDP Venture. The number wasn’t mentioned. It was the follow on seed funding from Kaskus last year (one of GDP Venture portfolios).

“Although the AI talents are limited, including in Indonesia, Prosa.ai founders showed that Indonesia is capable to develop AI technology and Prosa.ai is proven to have great progress in such short time,” GDP Venture’s CEO, Martin Hartono said.

He also mentioned, AI is developing technology and a valuable thing to support various industry. The investment over AI technology is a strategic step for the company and it’s expected to be a part of Indonesia’s technology development.

Prosa.ai was founded in 2018, started from its co-founder research, Ayu Purwarianti, Dessi Puji Lestari, and Teguh Eko Budiarto. Recently, Prosa.ai partnered up with the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo), launching a Chatbot AntiHoaks to review the news, articles, or links through the chat feature.

“Funding will be used to build up our team, improve the quality of products and data. Some products are to improve, such as Prosa Hoax Intel, NLP Toolkit API, Concept-Sentiment, Chatbot NLP Processing, Text Data Sets, Voice Biometrics, Speech Datasets, Speech-to-Text, Text-to-Speech, Conversational Analytics and Meeting Analytics for Bahasa Indonesia,” Prosa.ai’s CEO, Teguh Eko Budiarto said.

On Lee as the CTO of GDP Venture & GDP Labs, also part of Prosa.ai BOD said, “GDP Venture is very welcomed to have this opportunity to invest in Prosa.ai because it is one of the best AI company in Indonesia, established by credible founders and have expertise in AI, supported by solid team and the latest technology.”
