Immortals Joins League of Legends: Wild Rift

One of the most prominent esports organizations in North America, Immortals, joins Wild Rift’s esports scene. It assigns SeongHun “Hoon” Jang to lead the Wild Rift division. Immortals also confirms that it has a signed roster but no other names were revealed.

In case you didn’t know, Hoon has a YouTube channel, Gosu Hoon, with 419k subscribers at the time of this writing. Interestingly, most of his videos are about MLBB (Mobile Legends: Bang Bang). Both Wild Rift and MLBB are indeed mobile MOBA but both are considered rivals. It’s like assigning a Dota 2 content creator to lead an LoL team. Maybe there aren’t enough prominent players yet in Wild Rift. Let’s see how it goes.

Hoon also joins Immortals as a content creator. “To have an organization like Immortals invest in my passion for Wild Rift and include me in their expansion to mobile esports is mind-blowing. Together, we will bring new and existing fans even more content to help make Wild Rift their passion, too.” Said Hoon.

Immortals becomes the third team in LCS (NA LoL league) to participate in Riot’s mobile MOBA after Cloud 9 and TSM.

Previously, Cloud9 announced its Wild Rift lineup with only one player, Donovan “Zelo” Man, while holding tryouts to find the rest of the team. On the other side, TSM already has a complete roster for Wild Rift. However, its Wild Rift division is located in Brazil. The members of TSM Wild Rift are InZone (Baron lane), tetis (jungle), mike (mid), petroni (ADC), Danzon (ADC), Carlito (support) and Sonyy (Baron lane); with Shad as a team manager and Kaisz as the general manager.

Across the ocean, a legendary LoL player from China, Uzi also starts his own esports organization, starting with its Wild Rift division.
