The 3 Myths of Cloud Computing

In a cloud computing seminar, Mr Francis Lee from Joyent said there are a number of myths about cloud computing. The myths that made people and companies are still reluctant to switch the old model to data centre cloud computing services. Education about cloud computing is absolutely necessary to know what are the advantages and disadvantages of cloud computing. Indonesia in 2012, As I predicted, will be year where people would want to know more about cloud technologies, including try the service directly.

One certain thing is, by diverting resources to the cloud doesn’t mean the data owner can relax and not interfere if there are things that are not working (ie: crashes, hacked) with cloud service providers. At the initial of contract, service providers must have discussed with clients to design the system environment for obtaining optimal results. This is the proof of the cloud service providers’ seriousness in order to help us dealing with the change of resources from the system owned by the company.

Here are some myths of cloud computing that are mentioned Mr by Francis Lee and how it actually happens in the real world:

Blaast Finally Launched, Partners With XL

This morning I accidentally read a Tweet from Fachry Bafadal, one of the ambassadors of Blaast who retweet the information about Blaast services availability for common users.

Feeling curious, I downloaded Blaast application while looking for some additional information. Other information that I found came from Ziyad,  someone that i know as a local software engineer who works for Blaast. He announced that today Blaast has soft-launched and opens their services for those who are interested trying a variety of applications in their ecosystems.

Blaast, a cloud computing platform on mobile device, has been active in Indonesia at least since May 2011. Even though the headquarter is in Finland, Blaast chose Indonesia as the first place to launch their services. One of the main reasons is because the opportunity of feature phone is pretty big here.

Mitos-Mitos Cloud Computing

AdaDiskon is a comprehensive service to inform it via website, but unfortunately they don’t have mobile application even though you can access it via mobile web.
