Foxconn’s Indonesian Factories May Be Located in Three Different Provinces

New information on Foxconn’s factory in Indonesia mentions that Foxconn will build three separate factories. For the first phase, a 50 acre wide factory will be established somewhere near Jakarta.

The information was revealed by the Minister for Industry, M.S Hidayat, last Friday. As reported by Kompas, Hidayat reveals that the first factory needs a location near the airport. Therefore, the first factory will most probably built around Jakarta and Banten.

Next, Foxconn will build two 200 acre wide factories. According to Hidayat, the land for the three factories may located in three different locations and maybe, in three different provinces. But, these locations will be in Java.

As reported before, Foxconn plans to invest by building a 1000 acres factory in Indonesia with investment value reaching USD10 billion. Said factory is predicted to absorb a million Indonesian labors and a thousand Indonesian engineers.

The location of the factories remain unknown until today and is still to be discussed by Foxconn and the government.

Foxconn’s factory in Indonesia is expected to be built starting next year.
