Go-Jek Confirms Investment and Collaboration with Global Digital Niaga

Go-Jek declares partnership and undisclosed investment from Global Digital
Nusantara (GDN), a part of GDP Ventures. It is expected to spread the use of Go-Pay, Go-Send, and others, as well as helping SMEs partners.

There will be collaboration and partnership through Blibli in developing ideal formulas and ideas. Go-Jek previously announced  $150 million investment from Astra.

Blibli and Go-Jek’s extensive collaboration

Nadiem Makarim, Go-Jek’s CEO, said to the media, the collaboration and fundraising process with GDN has been running for 1.5 years. The long discussion ended with a collaboration and some fresh fund to be integrated gradually, following Go-Jek and Blibli partnership’s needs and development.

“I see that GDN has created many job opportunities and empowered Indonesia’s
SMEs. It matches Go-Jek’s vision and mission.”

In this occasion, Tiket.com’s CEO George Hendrata and Blibli’s CEO Kusumo Martanto, avoid mentioning the investment value.

“It’s not only about [cash] money, we will collaborate with Go-Jek to support Indonesia’s SMEs. On the other hand, we also want to use Go-Jek’s current technology,” Martanto said.

Hendrata added that there will be a continuous synergy between all Blibli’s
services and features with Go-Jek.

“This investment is not only given once, there are others in need along with the access and so on. This is only the first step.”

Go-Jek’s plan for Go-Pay in 2018

Makarim reiterates on this occasion regarding Go-Pay’s position that remains a part of Go-Jek. It is Go-Jek’s long-term plan to complete the payment platform and make it accessible to the public.

“I just want to straighten out media perception that said Go-Pay will be going independent, [going] out of Go-Jek’s ecosystem. It’s not true. Go-Pay will always be a part of Go-Jek,” he said clearly.

He also added that Go-Pay has helped many people getting access to cashless
transaction along with Go-Jek’s mission is to build cashless society in
Indonesia.

“Since the very beginning, we introduce Go-Pay to help people on doing cashless transaction. Furthermore, we’ll always help our partners getting more benefits from Go-Pay,” he concluded.
