Gojek and JD.com Announces “Joint Venture” for JD.id Integration and J-Express Logistics

After officially announcing first phase of series F funding, Gojek also announce a strategic partnership with JD.com in Indonesia. It’s in the form of a joint venture of JD.id and J-Express (JX).

JD.id is known as an e-commerce with original goods sales tagline. JX, a logistics for e-commerce, is said to integrate with Gojek’s network. JX is now accessible jn its official site.

In addition, the partnership will include some others, such as digital payment solution, marketing, and product catalog. There will be integration of both services, one is to provide direct access of JD.id product in Gojek’s app.

Jon Liao, JD com’s CSO said, the investment given to Gojek shows the company’s high trust on its business growth potential.

“Gojek’s domination in the market, excellent understanding of local demand, and the great number of loyal customers has made Gojek a reliable strategic partner for us in Indonesia. With the access to JD.id platform on Gojek’s mobile app, the 27 million monthly active users of Gojek will have direct access to the high-quality product offered on JD.id e-commerce platform,” he explained.

He added, “Gojek’s resources, from marketing, branding, and digital payment will help JD.id expand consumer network and provide the best e-commerce experience in Indonesia. Along with JD.com’s growth in the region, we aim to partner with Gojek to provide innovations in retail, logistics, and solutions for Southeast Asia’s consumers.”
