Harbolnas 2017 is Coming, Aiming For Rp5 Trillion Transactions

Harbolnas (National Online Shopping Day) that will be held in December 12, 2017 later is attended by 254 e-commerce throughout Indonesia. This year’s transaction is targeted to reach 5 trillions or increasing 50% by last year.

Achmad Alkatiri, Harbolnas 2017’s Head Committee said, the number is set due to the weekday, unlike the previous year’s long weekend. Harbolnas 2016 was held on three days, December 12-14, 2016.

“This is a good date, unlike the last year’s long weekend. It is challenging due to public’s tendency in spending money for vacation rather than shopping. Therefore we optimist in targeting 50% increasing transaction,” he added, on Wednesday (12/6)

Last year, according to Nielsen’s survey, Harbolnas transaction surpasses 3,3 trillion Rupiah (GMV), engaged with 221 e-commerce services. During the three day event, the average transaction rose up to 3.9 times higher of usual days.

Alkatiri continued, the difference of this year’s Harbolnas is the theme “Belanja Bersama” that focused on engaging enterprises to participate in developing their online business.

For the first time, Harbolnas team manage a three-city roadshow in Surabaya, Makassar and Medan, meeting 300 enterprises of various industries. The roadshow provides a number of training materials related to benefits and success tips for online marketing also the formula in using Harbolnas to improve their business.

“The previous theme is to increase customer awareness, currently there is a great ambition for small-area enterprises to go online. Of government’s participation in developing infrastructure, we want e-commerce to reach entire community to tighten the gap of necessity goods.”

This year’s Harbolnas participants consist of various business segments such as fashion and accessories, health and beauty, electronic goods, travel, marketplace and so on.

Some major e-commerce participated in this event are Bhinneka, Bukalapak, Jakmall, Zalora, Blanja, Shopee, Blibli, JD.id and Lazada.
