IPaymu Officially Launches, Announced Partnership with Paypal, Pos Indonesia, CIMB Niaga

Another week, another payment gateway officially launched in Indonesia. Today it’s iPaymu’s turn to celebrate their grand launch in Jakarta, with their tag line to make online transactions in Indonesia easier. In today’s grand launch, iPaymu also announces partnership with Paypal, an international payment gateway company.

As you probably recall, Paypal also announced partnership with Doku, another payment gateway company in Indonesia, only a few days ago. The objective for Paypal is also the same, to encourage merchants to go global and pushes cross-border transactions, according to Audrey.

Aside of partnering with international behemoth, Paypal, iPaymu also announces partnership with some local companies to help them grow their market even more. At the grand launching event in Jakarta today, iPaymu announces partnership with Pos Indonesia and also CIMB Niaga. CIMB Niaga, one of Indonesia’s local bank, agrees to use its banking platform as a storage for iPaymu’s users, to ensure security towards iPaymu’s users. So far, iPaymu has partnership with 137 local and international banks, as well as with Pos Indonesia who has more than 4000 outlets all over Indonesia. One of the biggest distribution infrastructure in Indonesia which is very underrated.

Riyeke Ustadianto, iPaymu CEO said that they’re currently focusing on user acquisition for next year, although they mostly aims towards SME especially online startups. Ustadiyanto also emphasize that the company is going to focus on their debit payment product as well as its embedded escrow transaction, as the competition in the credit card space is already packed with so little strategic advantage from each companies.
