Jakarta Founder Institute Offers Scholarship With Female Founder Fellowship Program

It is the last week for the registration of Jakarta Founder Institute. The 9th October 2011 will be the last day to register.

Jakarta Founder Institute will start this program on October 26th, 2011 until February 6th , 2012. It is targeted to get 30 participants to join the course with the curriculum that is needed to build and develop startup, supported also by links and guidance from local and international experienced mentors.

As written previously on DailySocial, there are 14 people has been accepted to join JKFI and the number is increasing. Previously, there were 7 female participants, and now becomes 8 participants.

In 2011, Founder Institude (FI) -global- also targeted to inaugurate 175 female founders in technology by increasing the presentation target of female participants up to 30%. Therefore, FI creates Female Founders Fellowship program. This program will give scholarship for selected female founders.

Novistiar from JKFI (Jakarta Founder Institute) stated that “every female founder registered in JKFI for this period will automatically get a chance to gain Female Founder Fellowship”. By the end of the registration period, the best female founder with the highest score on the test will get the Female Founder Fellowship.

By far, there are 8 female participants registered and 4 of them has been accepted. JKFI aims to get at least 20% founder or 6 participants of their program in Jakarta are females.

What will female founders get? Novistiar explains that the curriculum is similar to others, no special facilitation. However, one of the selected female will get free of course fee, and she can also build link with other FI female graduates to share experiences.

This Female Fellowship Program is not about special treatment for female but it is designed to increase the female participants in Founder Institute. According to Novistiar “Our reason to not give special thing to female founders is that we believe they have the same capability with the males. They do not need to be treated differently.”
