Microsoft, Nokia, and Radya Labs to Run Another Mobile App Challenge

Nokia Indonesia and Microsoft Indonesia are running another joint app competition, this time it’s called Lumia App Olympiad. The competition is open to students and the public who are proficient in using the SDK for Windows Phone 7.5 or Windows Phone 8. The winner will receive a gold medal, Nokia Premium Developer Program worth USD 1500, and the latest Nokia smartphone powered by Windows Phone 8. The event is supported by Evernote, Radya Labs, and Merah Putih Inc.

There are a number of categories being contested and these are Evernote, Nokia Music, Nokia Maps & Navigation, (Pure View) Lenses, Near Field Communication (NFC), XN, Direct 3D, Krazy MArket, MindTalk, and LintasME. A number of other categories are being finalized at the moment, while some APIs, namely Nokia Maps & Navigation, (Pure View) Lenses, NFC, and Direct 3D can only use Windows Phone 8 SDK. Each participant can only enter into one category.

Aside from the general prizes, Evernote is also adding USD 500 for the winner in its category.

Each team can only consist a maximum of three people who can or have participated in the workshops that is being held in five cities, Malang, Surabaya, Bandung, Yogyakarta, and Jakarta (Depok). The workshops began on the 19th until the 27th of November.

Nokia Developer Champions, Microsoft MVPs, Employees of Nokia Indonesia, Microsoft Indonesia, and Radya Labs are not eligible to participate.
