After being in beta version for some time, Mindtalk is finally officially released. The press conference is held this at 14 November 2013. Now, Mindtalk has left its beta status and ready to be fully used by its loyal users as well as the new users.
Previously, Trenologi has informed a snippet on several updates on Mindtalk, one of them is the ‘fluid’ effect on the homepage and content stream display when the user logs in. User might also has tried several new features available on Mindtalk. Aside from the homepage and stream display, other several updates are the look and how users interact including the way to access the content of the service.
Mindtalk focuses on the interest of its users, this service facilitates the users to follow provided interests, join in and interact with other users or create archives of articles, photos and other information according to their interests.
On the home page, update will be visible clearly with the ‘brain’ icon of Mindtalk at the center of the page. On this page, user can directly log in or enjoy the ‘fluid’ search feature by typing keywords in the search column at the ‘brain’ icon. The ‘brain’ icon of Mindtalk will “fluidly” shift when user presses the enter key. Mindtalk then will display the search result of the keywords. You can directly see and browse the content, or click on the Mind icon for another search.
When user clicks on a photo or image on the search result, the photo will pop out to display the bigger size, click on the photo to return it to the box. This feature is also available after the user logs in.
After logging in, the stream display has now changed into boxes a la Pinterest but with fluid effect. When a user clicks on a button to update the content, then the image of the new content will shift fluidly, giving an entirely different user experience from its older version.
The look of the stream of the content boxes is also manageable, whether to display articles only, newest content or status updates or what is known as ‘Mind’ on Mindtalk. Mindtalk is now also equipped with keyboard shortcut. Content display and the process of commenting are renewed, content or photos will be in the middle and the right side is dedicated for comment box.
Aside from the features mentioned above, Mindtalk has also prepared several others planned to be released, including updates for iOS apps, availability of the app in Samsung Apps Store and facilities intended for developers. In addition, Mindtalk icon on the homepage is planned to be displayed according to on-going theme, for example, new year or other events, complete with interactive effect.
As previously reported, this new look was prepared for more than 6 months. During that time, Mindtalk gathered feedbacks from users, preparing the core of its service, so now the new look and facilities are presented to the public.
Mindtalk currently owns 150.000 registered users and around 95.000 active users with 70% of the active ones are women. Along with the launching of Mindtalk, there’s a Today’s Hero event which will awarded leaders/high achievers in Indonesia.
Mindtalk is accessible through Mindtalk.com. Users are given an option to access the old version or the new version of Mindtalk, but it seems that this is only temporary during the introduction process.
