Sampingan Receives Pre Series A Funding Worth of 21 Billion Rupiah

Sampingan is an app that offers side jobs for its users. Today (10/8) they announced pre-series A funding worth of $1.5 million or equivalent to 21.2 billion Rupiah, led by Golden Gate Ventures – a venture capital that focuses on seed funding.

Participated also in this round, Antler and some angel investors. Sampingan happened to graduate from Antler‘s startup program. Investment is to be focused on business operational expansion.

Sampingan is designed to connect business with freelancers. There are few job offers, such as reviewer, surveyor, marketing agent, many more. Users that register as an agent or worker can participate in any job and gain credit (cash) to be disbursed.

Founded in late 2018, Sampingan is currently supported by 60 officers and build a headquarter in Jakarta. They just developed an app in the Android version, however, they claimed to have more than 150 thousand applicants.

Sampingan was founded by three people, Wisnu Nugrahadi, Margana Mohamad, and Dimas Pramudya. Those are graduates from Universitas Padjadjaran. Wisnu and Dimas used to be in the product and developer team at Gojek. Margana owns and runs an outsourcing business.

Previously, the founder said in an interview with DailySocial that the service was inspired by the outsourcing business models with a daily or monthly target for users. In the process, Sampingan uses a similar approach, and provides income based on performance (pay per performance).
