SayurBox Obtains Seed Funding From Patamar Capital

SayurBox, organic fruit and vegetables delivery startup reportedly to obtain
seed funding from Patamar Capital and some other angel investors. The value
is still undisclosed, it is approximately $200 – $300 thousand. The current
funding is part of Patamar Capital initiative, Investing in Women Fund which
objective is to reduce the gap in funding for female founder.

According to the official statement, Patamar Capital’s Investment Partner
Dondi Hananto said that the company believes in a great opportunity e-commerce industry has of fresh fruit and vegetables and SayurBox proves the capability to execute better. Besides the majority of female staff and SayurBox ability to empower them is one of the reasons SayurBox entered the “Investing in Women” initiative by Patamar Capital.

In separate occasion, Patamar Capital’s Associate Ellen Nio explained that they are looking for a startup with solution to solve problems in similar sector as SayurBox, providing organic fruit and vegetables. Therefore, SayurBox was chosen for showing good and promising traction resulting Patamar Capital’s full determination to invest.

“Earlier before SayurBox, Patamar had met several startups trying to solve similar problems. However, we see most promising traction from SayurBox and strongly believe that the team has relevant experience in organic farming and FMCG field as well as supply chain to develop this fresh produce e-commerce better.”

Patamar Capital expects with the funding given to SayurBox can prove its capability to grow by not only providing individual but also business consumers. SayurBox is Patamar Capital’s first funding portfolio of “Investing in Women Fund” program. Patamar reportedly to give funding for eight to ten female founder in Southeast Asia, especially in Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam, SayurBox is expected to be a role model for all potential female founders wanting to build a startup.

Meanwhile, SayurBox’s CEO Amanda Susanti said, “Today we believe that it is important for customers to know where the food comes from. SayurBox provides information about farmers and producers on how their products grow, whether it is organic, hydroponic or in conventional way.”
