Co-working Fintech Space Officially Launches, UnionSpace Marked Its Presence in Indonesia

Co-working space operator UnionSpace (previously known as Cre8) officially introduce its service in Indonesia by launching co-working Fintech Space in Jakarta specifically for fintech. The new office is targeted to officially operate in June 2018.

In its presence, UnionSpace partners with locals such as Indonesia’s Fintech Association (Aftech), Kejora Ventures and Gan Konsulindo. Through the strategic alliance, UnionSpace will develop partnership network includes GK-Plug and Play Indonesia and Founder Institute. Soon to be launched, a few international level startup accelerate programs.

“We are excited to be a part of business economic growth in Indonesia. One of which is in fintech. We believe that Indonesia will be a promotor for Southeast Asia’s market growth. Through Fintech Space, we support a rapid growth of fintech and an enormous wave of entrepreneurial revivals in fintech segment.” said UnionSpace’s CEO Albert Goh in the official statement.

For him, Fintech Space is expected to be a platform for collaboration among fintech stakeholders, including members of associations, regulators, finance companies, venture capital firms and the startup itself.

Besides, this venue will hold the number of fintech activities in the form of educational and sharing knowledge sessions to support capacity building of business players.

Aftech’s Chairman, Niki Luhur, added that Fintech Space could be a place for collaboration, exchange ideas and solutions as a means to create new innovations, and become the center of network development to accelerate fintech industry growth in Indonesia.

“Such public places are necessary to help accelerating fintech players work, in order to fulfill the priority of the national financial inclusion agenda for opening access to the financial services to at least 75% Indonesia’s population.” he said.

The registered members in Aftech has reached 137 people, bring together 114 fintech startup companies and 23 financial institutions.

UnionSpace itself first came up with the name Cre8 Community + Workspace. In October 2017, it receives invvestment from Kejora Ventures and Gan Konsulindo with undisclosed value. After the new investor, Cre8 in Indonesia with several other brands in Southeast Asia are fully transformed into UnionSpace.

Currently, UnionSpace is available in five locations around Jakarta, three locations in Manila and one located in Malaysia. In addition, it also has an online community platform “Enterprenity” which holds about 24 thousand users throughout the world.

Related to UnionSpace expansion, Albert Goh is targeting this year to add more than 20 locations in major Southeast Asia’s cities to be managed independently.

Resmikan Co-working Fintech Space, UnionSpace Tandai Kehadiran di Indonesia

Operator co-working space UnionSpace (sebelumnya bernama Cre8) meresmikan kehadirannya di Indonesia dengan meluncurkan co-working space Fintech Space di Jakarta khusus menaungi fintech. Kantor baru ini ditargetkan dapat beroperasi resmi pada Juni 2018.

Dalam kehadirannya, UnionSpace menggandeng mitra lokal seperti Asosiasi Fintech Indonesia (Aftech), Kejora Ventures, dan Gan Konsulindo. Melalui aliansi strategis ini, UnionSpace akan mengembangkan jejaring kerja sama yang mengikut sertakan GK-Plug and Play Indonesia dan Founder Institute. Juga segera meluncurkan beberapa program akselasi startup bertaraf internasional.

“Kami antusias untuk menjadi bagian dari pertumbuhan ekosistem bisnis di Indonesia. Salah satunya di industri fintech. Kami percaya Indonesia akan menjadi salah satu motor bagi pertumbuhan pasar Asia Tenggara. Melalui Fintech Space, kami mendukung kemajuan fintech yang begitu pesat dan gelombang kebangkitan wirausaha di bidang fintech yang begitu besar,” ujar CEO UnionSpace Albert Goh dalam keterangan resmi.

Menurut Albert, Fintech Space diharapkan dapat menjadi wadah kolaborasi antara para pemangku kepentingan bidang fintech, meliputi para anggota asosiasi, regulator, perusahaan keuangan, perusahaan modal ventura, dan startup itu sendiri.

Di samping itu, tempat ini akan menjadi kegiatan diselenggarakannya sejumlah aktivitas fintech dalam bentuk sesi edukasi dan berbagi pengetahuan untuk mendukung peningkatan kapasitas para pelaku usaha.

Ketua Umum Aftech Niki Luhur menambahkan, Fintech Space dapat menjadi tempat kolaborasi, bertukar gagasan dan solusi sebagai sarana untuk melahirkan inovasi baru, serta menjadi pusat pengembangan jejaring untuk mempercepat pertumbuhan industri fintech di Indonesia.

“Ruang publik semacam ini dibutuhkan untuk membantu mengakselerasi kerja para pelaku fintech, agar dapat memenuhi prioritas agenda inklusi keuangan nasional yaitu membuka akses layanan keuangan kepada sedikitnya 75% penduduk Indonesia,” kata Niki.

Adapun anggota terdaftar dalam Aftech saat ini menghimpun 137 anggota, terdiri atas 114 perusahaan startup fintech dan 23 lembaga keuangan.

UnionSpace sendiri pertama kali hadir dengan nama Cre8 Community + Workspace. Pada Oktober 2017 lalu, menerima investasi dari Kejora Ventures dan Gan Konsulindo dengan nilai yang tidak disebutkan. Pasca investor baru masuk, Cre8 di Indonesia dan sejumlah merek lainnya di Asia Tenggara bertransformasi penuh menjadi UnionSpace.

Sejauh ini, UnionSpace beroperasi di lima lokasi di Jakarta, tiga lokasi di Manila, dan satu lokasi di Malaysia. Selain itu, juga memiliki platform komunitas online “Enterprenity” yang menampung sekitar 24 ribu pengguna dari seluruh dunia.

Terkait ekspansi UnionSpace, Albert menargetkan pada tahun ini dapat menambah lebih dari 20 lokasi di kota besar Asia Tenggara yang akan dikelola secara mandiri.
