Fancy is a famous lifestyle service nowadays. Focusing on mobile apps (iOS and Android), Fancy provides information on interesting items collected and a chance to buy those items on its online store. Actually, we can also access Fancy’s content in its website.
Although its biggest market is still the United States, Fancy seems to have seen the possibility of expanding the market to another country, moreover the product offered is not common product. Services that similar to Fancy are Fab and Gilt Groupe but as far as I know, both sites have not support shipping outside United States.
On the last update on its mobile app, Fancy informed that the option for Bahasa Indonesia is now available along with other 13 languages. This indicates that Indonesia is an important potential market for Fancy. There is no information on how many Fancy user in Indonesia but becoming 1 of 2 Asian countries which local language is supported (the other one is Korea) is interesting.
Other than language issue, Fancy has done some follow up of the possibility of opening new market by supporting international buyerr. The experiment to check the shipping fee to Indonesia gave the number USD17 for each shipment. Unfortunately, there is no information about tracking, what delivery service used and estimation on when the goods will reach the buyer. Payment can be done with credit cards but Fancy hasn’t receive payment with PayPal.
