mig33 strengthened its base in social networking services by launching a miniblog similar to Twitter. With this miniblog, mig33 users can send messages using 140 characters that are integrated with third-party service games, avatars, profiles, and chat. As quoted from VentureBeat, mig33 CEO Mr Steve Goh said, “We think miniblog could be a liaison, unifying our diverse range of services to users. You can access rich media, play, and get the badges directly in the platform. It represents the evolution in our community. ”
Goh continued that miniblog was inspired by similar service owned by Twitter, Sina’s Weibo, and Tumblr. This service will be implemented first time in Indonesia as the largest mig33 mass base and then expands it into the corners of Southeast Asia and South Asia. There are approximately 30 million of mig33 registered users in Indonesia alone.
