Semangat pemerintah Indonesia dalam mengusung konsep pemerintahan terbuka (open government) telah terwujud. Setelah sebelumnya sempat mendukung berbagai kegiatan kreatif seperti hackathon #HACKJAK dan Retas Bangsa, pemerintah Indonesia kini secara resmi telah membuka situs portal Data.id. Portal ini memuat berbagai data dari seluruh sektor instansi pemerintahan yang dapat digunakan oleh siapa saja secara bebas. Indonesia’s Communications Ministry Blocks Vimeo, Claims It’s a Porn Site

On Sunday Indonesians on Twitter discovered that Telkom Indonesia had begun to block access to video site Vimeo. While the block doesn’t seem to be affecting all customers, a number of complaints had arose and the move was confirmed by Telkom CIO and director of innovation and IT solutions and strategic portfolio Indra Utoyo.

Partnership Crucial to Success of Open Government Initiatives

On April 26-27, DailySocial, Southeast Asia Technology Transparency Initiative (SEATTI), World Wide Web Foundation (WWWF), and the government of Jakarta, held HackJak, a 24 hour competition challenging software developers in Indonesia to create software-based solutions to assist in solving the issues plaguing Jakarta. The city, as well as the central government through UKP4, provided data sets for developers to build upon. The event attracted 200 registrants with over 50 solutions offered.
