Foodie app Burpple quietly released an update today which increased emphasis on discovery and search and introducing a revamped interface which rearranged the placements of some streams to align with the more focused purposes. The app’s previous update, which came just over a month ago added the ability to blog about the food in a way that Instagram allows people to describe the photos they’re about to post.

Bibbycam, a photo editing app for BlackBerry, together with Detikinet hold a photo contest with the theme “Urban Photography”. This photo contest provides 5 BlackBerrys for best 5 photos.
Submitted photo must meet the contest theme, namely Urban Photography. Participant is free to explore and record the image of urban people/areas. The, the photo is customized with the filter from Bibbycam app to make the photo more interesting.
Certainly, the submitted photo is not allowed to contain inter-racial religious ethnic groups racism, pornography, violence or defamation. Participant can upload their photos until June 24, 2012.

Bibbycam, aplikasi editing foto untuk BlackBerry, bekerja sama dengan Detikinet menyelenggarakan sebuah kontes foto dengan tema “Urban Photography”. Kontes foto ini menyediakan 5 buah BlackBerry untuk 5 foto terbaik.
Foto yang disertakan harus sesuai dengan tema kontes yakni Urban Photography. Peserta diberi kebebasan untuk mengeksplorasi dan mengabadikan potret kaum/wilayah urban. Kemudian, foto tersebut dikreasikan dengan menggunakan filter dari aplikasi Bibbycam untuk membuat foto tersebut lebih menarik.
Tentunya, foto yang disertakan tidak diperkenankan mengandung unsur yang menyinggung SARA, pornografi, kekerasan, atau pencemaran nama baik. Peserta ditunggu sampai dengan 24 Juni 2012 untuk mengunggah foto karya mereka.

Facebook akhirnya merilis aplikasi foto, yang telah lama menjadi rumor, untuk perangkat iOS, yang dinamakan Facebook Camera. Saat ini, aplikasi Facebook Camera hanya tersedia di App Store tertentu, dengan kata lain, belum tersedia secara luas untuk alasan yang belum diketahui. Saat tulisan ini dibuat, aplikasi ini belum tersedia di App Store Indonesia.
Berita seputar aplikasi ini muncuk tahun lalu ketika TechCrunch mempublikasikan detail tentang aplikasi tersebut beserta beberapa screenshot. Meskipun ketika dirilis aplikasi Facebook Camera ini berbeda dengan tampilan yang dikabarkan sebelumnya, ini hal biasa karena jeda waktu antara kabar tersebut dan tanggal rilis memang cukup lama.
Facebook Camera adalah komponen kedua yang diambil dari aplikasi utama Facebook, yang pertama adalah Messenger. Sebenarnya lebih masuk akal bagi Facebook untuk merilis aplikasi secara terpisah daripada mengumpulkan berbagai fungsi dalam satu aplikasi. Aplikasi jelas berbeda dengan website, di mana Anda dapat mengumpulkan semua layanan dalam satu tempat. Dengan aplikasi, orang sepertinya menginginkan kecepatan dan fokus. Memiliki berbagai layanan yang tidak terkait secara langsung dalam satu aplikasi hanya akan ‘menggembungkan’ aplikasi dan memperlambatnya, meskipun Facebook sepertinya bisa mengatasinya dengan membuat aplikasi utama mereka intuitif dan menarik.

Facebook finally launched its long rumored photo app for iOS, called Facebook Camera. For now though, the app is only available from certain App Stores, in other words, it hasn’t been made available worldwide for some reason. As of this writing, it’s not yet available from the Indonesian App Store.
Word of this app dated back to last year when TechCrunch published details of the app including some screenshots. The released version however, turn out to be quite different from the leaked images, but that’s almost a given since it’s been a year after all.
Facebook Camera is the second component ripped out of the primary Facebook app, with the first being Messenger. It seems to make sense to have parts of the Facebook app running as their own separate app rather than a collection of functions inside one app. Apps are clearly different from websites in which you can shove all services into one place. With apps, people seem to want speed and focus. Having multiple and directly unrelated services in one app would only serve to bloat the app and slow it down, even though Facebook seems to have managed to make its primary app intuitive and attractive.
The release of Facebook Camera app posed the immediate question of, “Why would Facebook need two different photo apps?” Facebook of course, is waiting for the regulatory approval to acquire the popular photography-based social network Instagram, for a billion dollars. If it has Instagram, why would it need Facebook Camera?
