Tinkerlust, e-commerce startup offering pre-loved goods for women, announced an unspecified amount of funding obtained from Merah Putih Inc and Danny Oei Wirianto as angel investor. Tinkerlust was founded by Samira Shihab (CEO) and Aliya Amitra (COO) two years ago and claims to have gained up to 417 percent of new user traction.
“With money injection from these investors, we’re hoping to accelerate Tinkerlust development in creating a top fashion sharing platform. To provide an easy, safe, and convenient shopping experience for sellers, buyers and renters, we will focus on investing in IT, product and supply chain,” Shihab said.
Tinkerlust platform simplify those who wants to sell their stuff and have access to personal dashboard for monitoring the sales. On the other hand, buyers can easily find branded goods with competitive prices. Tinkerlust curates and selects any items received before appearing on the website to check product authenticity and quality and make sure only the finest goods are being sold.
“We observe the progress. A shift in consumerism trains women in managing expenses and keeping up with the latest trends at the same time. Therefore, such platform as Tinkerlust will have a chance to move forward and achieve a strong position in the market. We believe Samira and Aliya have strong connections and intuitions in these industries. We support them to make Tinkerlust the top-rank in its field,” said Antonny Liem, Merah Putih Inc’s CEO.
Despite being a platform for pre-loved fashion items commerce, Tinkerlust also rents designer-made dresses. “Due to increasing users, Tinkerlust notice that consumers are looking for various designer products and well-known brands at affordable prices. Therefore, Tinkerlust presents designer-made dresses rental at affordable prices,” Shihab said.
According to the data, every woman can have about 90 fashion items in their closet worth up to Rp10 million, almost half of it are no longer used and most likely to end up in the dump. Therefore, Tinkerlust seek to assist in the process of buying and selling by providing professional photography service, suggesting market-based product prices, giving detailed product descriptions, and listing on the site.
Through Tinkerlust, Shihab wants Indonesian women to have easy access for fashion shopping. “Most Indonesians have limited access for branded goods like Zara or Tory Burch. Tinkerlust is here as shopping destination to get easy access for branded goods at affordable prices,” she concluded.
