Google officially announces Indonesian office

We just received invitation from Google for the official opening ceremony of Google Indonesia’s operation, as well as announcing their Indonesian office. The event takes place at Cyber 2 building in Kuningan District, Jakarta on March 30th 2012.

The event will also attended by 2 ministers : Dr. Mari E. Pangestu, Minister of Travel & Creative Economy and Gita Wirjawan, Minister of Trade where both of them will be talking about Google’s effort in building the internet business in Indonesia. Julian Persaud, Managing Director, Google Southeast Asia will represent Google and do opening ceremony for this specific event.

Google Finally Appoints Country Head for Indonesia

After been heavily poaching some top execs from top companies, we recently learned that Google Indonesia finally appoints a Country Head and it’s not Erik Meijer (as opposed to the rumors floating around). Google Indonesia has appointed Rudy Ramawy as Country Head to lead operations in the country, we learned based on the changes on Ramawy’s LinkedIn profile.

Prior to joining Google Indonesia, Ramawy was one of the Directors of media channel RCTI owned by MNC Group and as far as we know, he never holds a position working with digital / internet products but I’m certain Google knows better than me.

Google Tunjuk Country Head untuk Indonesia

Setelah “membajak” banyak orang top dari perusahaan top di Indonesia, akhirnya Google Indonesia resmi menunjuk perwakilannya untuk menjalankan operasional Google di Indonesia dan pastinya orang itu bukan Erik Meijer (seperti rumor yang beredar). Google Indonesia telah menunjuk Rudy Ramawy sebagai Country Head di Indonesia, sesuai informasi yang kami temukan di profil Rudy Ramawy di LinkedIn.

Sebelum bergabung dengan Google Indonesia, Rudy merupakan salah satu Direktur di RCTI dan sepertinya belum pernah memegang posisi yang berkaitan dengan digital dan internet, tapi pastinya Google sudah mempertimbangkan hal tersebut.
