Akamai: Indonesia is The “Champion” of Internet Crime
How many titles should be given for Indonesia relating to internet crime? Once Sophos and Kaspersky issued a report that Indonesia is included in the country’s biggest spammers in the world, Akamai – a company that deals with Internet content delivery to end-user – has confirmed that Indonesia recently become “champion” for the biggest internet crime origin country according to state-of-the-Internet report in the third quarter of 2011.
These crimes included attacks on port microsoft-ds sharing (port 445), telnet (port 23), WWW / HTTP (port 80), HTTPS / SSL (port 443), and Microsoft SQL Server (port 1433). Indonesia mostly attacked port 80 and port 443 – which is used by Internet service. Indonesia became the champion with 14% of the total attacks in the world, followed by Taiwan, China, the United States and Russia. This figure is up nearly double from the previous quarter which was only 7.4% of the total attacks.

Akamai: Indonesia “Juara” Serangan Kejahatan di Internet
Entah berapa banyak lagi gelar juara perlu disandang Indonesia untuk urusan kejahatan di Internet. Setelah Sophos dan Kaspersky menerbitkan laporan bahwa Indonesia termasuk dalam negara penyebar spam terbesar di dunia, kini Akamai menegaskan bahwa Indonesia menjadi “juara” sebagai negara asal serangan kejahatan di Internet terbesar, berdasarkan laporan state-of-the-Internet kuartal ketiga 2011. Akamai adalah perusahaan Internet yang mengurusi penyampaian konten kepada end-user.
Yang termasuk dalam serangan ini antara lain serangan terhadap port sharing microsoft-ds (port 445), telnet (port 23), WWW/HTTP (port 80), HTTPS/SSL (port 443), dan Microsoft SQL Server (port 1433). Serangan dari Indonesia paling banyak menyerang port 80 dan port 443 — yang biasa digunakan oleh layanan Internet. Indonesia menjadi kampiun dengan menguasai 14% dari seluruh total serangan di dunia, diikuti oleh Taiwan, Cina, Amerika Serikat dan Rusia. Angka ini naik hampir dua kali lipat dari kuartal sebelumnya yang hanya menyumbang 7.4% dari seluruh total serangan.

What Akamai Says about Indonesian Internet at Q2 2011
You might not know much about Akamai, but actually most of the data you download or the streaming facilities you use are provided by Akamai’s infrastructure. Akamai is everywhere to make sure that your data is comfortable and optimal. Every quarter, Akamai writes a report on internet condition around the world and about the interesting things dealing with it. Lately, Akamai released a report entitled State of the Internet for Q2 2011. What does it say?
Since this report is predominantly about broadband and internet security, there’s not much in it about Indonesia, it’s not even among the countries highlighted across Asia Pacific. There are however several interesting points to consider that may be taken into account when discussing Internet usage in Indonesia. Akamai noted that for Q2 2011, Indonesia’s national average was at 643 kbps. Since this is the average speed, it would account for example, for FastNet users in Jakarta to have a 3 Mbps connection and 256 kbps or less in other areas.

Yang pertama adalah rata-rata kecepatan koneksi Internet di Indonesia. Akamai mencatat bahwa untuk Q2 2011 ini Indonesia mencatatkan angka 643 kbps. Angka ini adalah rata-rata nasional jadi ada yang seperti di Jakarta menggunakan FastNet bisa mencapai angka 3 Mbps, tapi ada juga yang masih di bawah 256 kbps.
