The MCI and Huawei Commit to Improve Indonesian HR Quality by Signing An MoU

The government showed their commitment in developing the local tech ecosystem by partnering with PT Huawei Tech Investment (Huawei). The Ministry of Communication and Information (MCI) has just signed an MoU with Huawei to establish an innovation center through the optimation of human resources in IT sector.

The ratification was held yesterday (19/5) in Jakarta. It was signed by the Ministry’s Head of Human Resources Research and Development Basuki Yusuf Iskandar and Huawei Indonesia’s CEO Sheng Kai.

A number of high profiles attended the ratification, such as the Minister of Communication and Information Rudiantara, the Embassy of People Republic of China’s Economic and Trade Counsellor Wang Li Ping, Huawei’s President of Global Government Affairs David Wang, and representatives of numerous universities, government bodies, and players of the industry.

By the agreement, Huawei will actively contribute to the development of local human resources in industry innovation sector. The Chinese titan will provide an innovation center in which Indonesian students may gain valuable IT education and training.

Moreover, Huawei also committed to partner with local partners in order to focus on innovation research and development in most recent IT-related updates. Huawei also plans on empowering its IT experts to provide consultation regarding to IT issues in order to create effective and beneficial  IT regulation for Indonesians.

“Since 2013, Huawei has been partnering with the Ministry of Communication and Information in developing education and research in IT field. Through this social responsibility program, Huawei and its partners keep on committing to give their best contribution to enhance the telecommunication industry and Indonesians’ prosperity,” Sheng Kai said.

This Huawei’s noble intention to empower local HR is expected to transform Indonesians into an independent and capable industry through an immense economic growth, rather than keep on merely being a potential market.
