DailySocial recently received a press release of a new startup from Bandung who plays in the travel segment (tourism) with technology-basis; the name is Travel In Seven.
“Travel In Seven is a brand that will have a lot of products such as travel guide, destination directory and culinary place using web based and mobile application”, explained Asep Bagja Priandana – founder of Travel In Seven in the press release.
From the press release, Travel In Seven stated that their business is the ecosystem for the travel industry because the products released could be used by tourists and developer. It also could be a support for tourism, hotel and dining business. At the beginning, the Travel In Seven’s contain will be from Bandung, Jakarta, Yogyakarta and Semarang.
The first product of the Travel In Seven is a blog called Travelinseven.com. The blog that has been running since November 2011 contains reviews about tourist spots, culinary treats, and general tourism information.
The next product is a mobile application called Culinary Guide which contains a guideline/review about places to eat. It will facilitate the tourists to decide where to eat when visiting certain cities.
Culinary Guide will be launched first on the BlackBerry PlayBook, followed by Android, BlackBerry and finally iOS. This is the Culinary Guide application screenshot on BlackBerry Playbook that we received from Deddy Avianto’s tweet:
We also had the opportunity to do a short interview with Priandana:
DS: Can you explain what is Travel In Seven?
Travel In Seven is the ecosystem or hub between the traveller, developers, and the tourism support business owners.
DS: How did Travel In Seven come about?
When I was on vacation for 7 days in Bali in October 2011 (the reason for the name Travelinseven), I was confused about where to go. I was lazy to go to the general tourist attractions as advised by Tripadvisor or Lonelyplanet. I want to have unusual experience. Thus in Travel In Seven, I want to have content that covers areas or spots outside of the usual tourist locations.
DS: When was Travel In Seven launched?
We started the blog in November 2011. However, there was no announcement anywhere, just via Twitter (@travelin7) and Facebook page (facebook.com/travelinseven). This the first time we created a press release because the mobile application is ready.
DS: What products are being developed by Travel In Seven?
After reviewing blog content, Travel In Seven now has many culinary themes. Thus in the mobile app we want to focus on developing Culinary Guide. We will launch on the PlayBook first, followed by Android, BlackBerry, and then iOS.
Later, we will open up data access for 3rd party developers https://developer.travelinseven.com (in the development process). For free, there is limit but if you need “without limit”, please contact directly via email to admin@travelinseven.com for the price.
In the future we will launch other travel guides. We don’t know yet what it is, let us see the situation first. And yes, the blog discusses about travelling in general, from tourist attractions, dining and travelling tips to everything to do with traveling.
