Following the departure of its two co-CEOs, aCommerce has appointed Snorre Larstad and Hadi Kuncoro to lead Indonesia’s operation as the new CEO and COO. They will play important role to lead next phase of growth as aCommerce is about to raise a new $30 million Series B funding by the end of the year to fuel its expansion. Indonesia is aCommerce’s biggest regional operation.

Norwegian Larstad has twenty years of experience, with most of career has been spent in Asia. His last position was Morris Group’s Chief Strategy Officer, where he helped scale private Chinese manufacturing company into global enterprise. He speaks fluent Chinese. Kuncoro, in other side, is e-commerce veteran. He was founding member of Zalora Indonesia and co-founded Saqina, a Muslim fashion e-commerce company.

“We’ve seen unparalleled growth in Indonesia and it is on track to become our most important strategic market,” said aCommerce’s Group CEO and Ardent Capital’s Chairman Paul Srivorakul in a statement.

He added, “With Snorre’s experience scaling and managing huge and complex international retail businesses and Hadi’s success rate in building massive ecommerce operations in Indonesia we are confident that this pairing will streamline our incredible growth and gear us up for the next phase of our commercial development in Indonesia.”

Previous co-CEOs, Hadi Wenas and Adrian Suherman, are now part of Lippo Group’s executives. Wenas is now the CEO of Lippo’s new O2O e-commerce company MatahariMall, while Suherman will take executive role within Lippo Group.

Indonesia is aCommerce’s biggest part in Southeast Asia, comprises of 360 employees and has almost 10,000 square meters of warehouse capacity in two locations. aCommerce Indonesia currently serves MatahariMall, L’Oreal, MAP, and BerryBenka.

Larstad commented, “This is an exciting time to be in the ecommerce industry in Indonesia. With ecommerce still accounting for much less than one percent of retail in Indonesia, Hadi and I will be continuing the work of positioning aCommerce as the key driver of ecommerce industry development across the archipelago.”

Asked about what further expansion will be made for Indonesia’s operation, especially related with aCommerce’s new funding plan, Larstad answered, “We’ve only scratched the surface of e-commerce growth in Indonesia. In the last few months, we’ve added a new fulfillment center bringing our total to 9,332 sqm and two fulfillment centers. Given the traction we have, we only expect this expansion to continue, which requires funding for physical as well as technological expansion.”

In Thailand, aCommerce innovates by launching the Skybox BTS locker initiative. There was a need for this kind of solution given the booming C2C and marketplace e-commerce market. Larstad hoped such service will be part of learning on applying and localizing e-commerce solution in Indonesia.

“In Indonesia, we envision that the industry is about to enter into a rapid growth phase. aCommerce will be at the forefront of providing the solutions for any obstacle in the growth path of the e-commerce industry,” Larstad concluded.
