What is SITTI up to these days?

The last time we wrote about SITTI was way back in November last year and it was about the company’s new office at Senopati. There hasn’t really been anything much in the way of news about the company or how it’s been doing since then so we thought, you know what, why don’t we ask them about it?

SITTI is a company that offers text-based advertising for websites using Indonesian language, the local version of AdSense, if you will. Last year they threw a challenge to Google and showed ways in which SITTI’s product is superior to Google’s. Whether it actually is better I can’t say for sure but the numbers seemed compelling, at least back then, because there hasn’t been any update since.

Earlier today we fired off several questions to the executives at SITTI ranging from their opinions about the state of digital Indonesia and local startups to more probing questions about the company’s progress and direction but unfortunately we haven’t got the answers although we did get an email back saying that they should be able to address our questions tomorrow.

What would be interesting is the response, if any, to Google’s upcoming entrance of AdSense to the Indonesian market. SITTI made a big deal about going head to head with AdSense and competing with Google has become some sort of a rallying call and selling point of the service. Having the scene set up that way, we can’t help but look forward to what they have to say about it.
