It seems that Indonesian education sector is currently in the spotlight. Just take a look at ZTE Indonesia, which captured the potential of the sector by partnering with Trust Unified Systems to introduce the “Smart Education Solution” during the “21 Country Learning” event last Friday (23/1) in Surabaya.
This Smart Education Solution is designed to solve most of problems faced by education sector in Indonesia, such as the lack of infrastructure, unequal resources, and inefficient management, by combining educational content, methods, and various information tools. Such concept was applied by integrating education cloud platform, interactive classroom system, courseware micro video production equipment, and mobile learning apps.
ZTE Indonesia’s Vice President Channel Marketing Kenneth He stated in his press release, “ZTE’s Smart Education Solution diminishes the limitation of time and space in education services, supports interactive learning, reduces problems caused by unequal distribution of educational resources, reaches ‘education for all development’, and improves the quality of teachers and education.”
The solution is divided into several categories, such as Smart Campus, Smart Class, Mudular Data Center, E-Learning, and many others. The products which got introduced at yesterday’s seminar were e-library, video conference and unlimited access within the classroom, management system for campus officers and students’ database, and e-ID for students which can be utilized to access rooms, report their absence, and even buy food in the canteen. ZTE also claimed that their solution may give users a whole new experience in teaching and learning through big data analysis on teaching and learning habit.
About the partnership, Trust Unified Systems’ Chief Innovation Officer Melvin Oet told Lensa Indonesia, “We expect that this education system can be widely received in Indonesia, by both schools and universities. Moreover, information technology has been sp crucial to people’s daily life today, especially mobile devices. Currently, there have been 325 million active cellphones in Indonesia, thus the potential would be huge and proper enough to be implemented to education sector.”
Previously, ZTE claimed that their Smart Education System had been successfully implemented in 14 countries, including Turkey, Ethiopia, Nigeria, and Papua New Guinea. “We expect that this solution may help more education institutions and companies to eliminate traditional problems in education and take a leap toward intelligence-based education,” He ended.
